Domestication VS Civilization

Domestication: Adaptation to intimate association with human beings.

Civilization: the process by which a society or place reaches an advanced stage of social development and organization.

The above definitions could be taken as the focal point of the argument as the general concept of the two distinct words layby a retrospective definition.

Domestication and civilization are both a vital element for human evolution. They are the levels of a certain process, instead of synonymous steps to human advancement.

Lets keep it simple,

Domestication ------> Civilization

But not always!

A great example is from another specie of living. A herd of sheep under the authority of a farmer is undoubtedly domesticated, but this never means they are domesticated! Why? They don’t have the right to choose or question! The lack the element of ‘will’, and therefore, we never find a person of high scholarship calling ‘what a civilized herd of sheep it is”.

Under strong enforcement of law, the legality of every aspect murders, or a better word is ‘massacres’, the spirit of creativity or ‘out-of-box’ thinking. Although, law in society inseminates peace, but again it is the major reason for its disruption!

A society in which crime is not committed because of the following punishment is a domesticated society, whereas, a society where crime is not committed because of its criminality is called a civilized society. Therefore, it is fair to conclude, a domesticated society is a well-trained one, on the contrary, civilized society is a well-educated one!

Moreover, all the so-called civilizations, which to survive were well-domesticated because in a domesticated society any person going against general imposed and regulated view is called a betrayer, whereas, in a civilized society (even if the ideation doesn’t coincide with the harm principle) the person is labeled as an innovator and is debated rather than persecuted.

Domestication is nothing but taming the bird to obey the master. And taming is nothing more than caging the free and training him to not bite the elite. This sounds synonymous to the local legal traditions. In addition, this is a major cause for suffering of countries like Pakistan or Egypt, that whether democracy or dictatorship – corruption depolarizes a nation, radiating a sense of normality.

D for dog and domestication and C for cat and civilization, and habits of dogs and cats are quite evident to word linked to it. This doesn’t mean civilized society is abrupt and selfish, but this also doesn’t mean that they are open and selfless. Civilized people believe in justice rather than equality! Now question the law you are under which. Constituted rules would punish you whether you theft because of hunger or fun – and that simple equality! But if there was justice, there would have been a vivid balance – so the theft due to hunger would have been forgiven.

Hence, constructive reciprocation exists only in a civilized nation.

In reality, we have been restricted in a boundary where we think law to be our love and cherisher, and legally forget the negative aspect of it!

Moreover, it doesn't mean law is a negative factor of human life but a factor which remains to be revised time to time. Law is therefore a dire need of society and evolving it is a great step towards human advancement. 

"A system easy to logic but harsh for brain"

When comparing Pakistan's education system with a 1st world country's education system, we find there to be a very little difference which is approach! The syllabus goes into huge depth but its designers usually forget that a student might drown in those depths. To save student from such problem is to change the system of education which is truly a difficult task so instead we can make our drowning easier and much relaxing. Few simple steps are enough to deal with it; firstly introduce activity based learning which is being successfully used in USA, UK and Australia, secondly, introduce career counselling in high school and lastly, shorten the syllabus to only latest information and technology.

To be honest, these small steps would evolve our education system but still a new system is direly required to produce highly focused citizens.

Haste for tuitions

Right now pupils of different ages who have given board exams are planning to go for tuition to better their result but this might be a hasty decision which might be useless. Those expecting miracles from tuitions should understand nothing is possible without oneself's hard work and aim fullness. If you have interest in a specific subject and go with targets, you certainly would achieve your goals, i.e good result. If school provides lectures enough to solve practice papers, you are on the right track and firmly believe in school to ace. Here again if tuitions turn out to be a dire need, a person should go for it as at the end its all about your future.

As this time is crucial, one should take a decision without any doubts from those who have got experience and in the profession aimed, and remembers a pathway with failures leads to success!

To battle bad results!

Board exams are one of the most important part of life but the matter students fail to understand is in reality its just a small part of life! Bad results are a huge demotivation for young pupils and sometimes further trigger their running off from education. Such situations need continuos positive counselling and restrictions for the child by the teachers and parents.This doesn't mean ban over home access to social media or end to involvement with peer groups but its limitation. To be honest we need extra-ordinary moral support from the parents and teachers by explaining the child that they are always there in days of success and failures. Try explaining the significance of perseverance in life and push them forward again to enter this battle! For a better result, parents should ask time to time about their child's interest in the attempted subject and teachers shouldn't be silent over minor declines as it leads to nothing but trouble. Even remember to make the student realise the value of time and money involved in education. The best way to level-up is to ask the child for hard work and dedication instead of good grade because it boosts confidence!

Summer Vacation and Boredom

The school students especially living in Karachi are so unfortunate that for them summer vacations is another period of imprisonment in their homes. After months of studying hard non-stop it is a pupil's right to enjoy these vacations but what can we say, continuos fear for act of terrorism swallows all the happiness! In addition, less number of summer camps in the economic range of a normal person are difficult to locate. This instigates boredom, tension and agony for the city's situation and nothing looks better than viewing 24/7 news channels with news full of sorrow. I think our city and country craves for peace because in the state of harmony the student population is only satisfied.

Community Service and Youth

A moment of pride is to see the youth being really active in community service and why shouldn't they be because Pakistan is a country where social services is much more common in public than that at the governmental level. Developed nations have given community service extreme importance and credit students over there records of volunteering. In Pakistan such system is required because this promotes national fraternity, social security and community trust. Letting in volunteers from different scopes would further help in transparency of NGOs and further polish their aims of serving the nation. 

Club of Death

Our youth is being enslaved by the addiction of Shisha which penetrated as a teenage fashion. At every corner from slums to the posh areas we either find Hooka Bars or Shisha clubs where the same thing is being sold at variable prices. The case of Shisha is similar to that of cigarette but what to say about social ignorance and undue silence. The harms of such an entertainment are numerous and prolonged. The most common myth is the believe of Shisha being safer than cigarette which baseless and one should accept what doctars have concluded is that Shisha is equally as harmful as cigarette. Again the worst part is our social acceptance for Shisha!

I request the parental community and teaching staff to explain the hazardous effects of such drugs in life and over health. Moreover, people should request for closures of these places as soon as possible for the removal of such harmful distractions!
